I have no monetary means to put at your disposal, but here is my very best for your consideration. My Thoughts on a "Kerry Administration" platform. 1. Devise a mathematical equation to optimize the tax rate. (60% slows down the economy without benefitting the govt, but 0% also is too low.) Instead of taking an act of congress to take a blind stab at a better tax rate each time, we should make it a mathematical discussion. 2. The reason I would vote for a "Socialist" party over a republican one, is because they have shown themselves to be the party of those who love money. (I Tim 10:6, 3:3,8) 3. Make a point that Homosexuals have silenced the majority voice. Enter the term "Homophiliac" into the vernacular, as an antonym to "Homophobe." 4. Moderate on-screen sex by putting it in proportion to eating (we eat more than we have sex.) 5. Use the benefits of a public works project to implement the "borax" solution. 6. Define the stock market in such terms mathematically that it can be differentiated from Tulip Mania of Dutch history. 7. Use the water rights question called "water plan" to bring peace to the Middle East by cheapening oil (Have no idea of an answer to the question of Jerusalem.) 8. Keep the price of gas high by taxes to pay deficit and debt, rather than putting it in the pocket of big oil. Lower it only for humanitarian reasons. 9. Do not neglect to replace Greenspan before his funeral. Telegraph to the stock market that a change at the top is not an attempt to change all benefits of Greenspan's judgment, at the expense of his knowledge of good policy, but rather to choose a person whose integrity will govern the counsel of smart people, and yet another person who will not choose short term solutions. I think that promoting from within in this case would make a puppet subject to the voice of the stock market themselves of what "Greenspan would have done." 10. The pharmaceutical companies are using the FDA as an end run around Nafta. 11. An administration that makes its goal to bring the poverty level and the minimum wage together, as close as possible, would be loved and go down in history as a venerable administration. *after the fact I add - It has been and still is my understanding that the Federal minimum wage is rather less than the Federal Poverty Level.* 12. Our plane that was downed near China, some years ago was at that time a Political embarrassment. A somewhat repeatable process would be (and this only if sincerely stated,) "We observed it was a time of elevated activity, and we employed a solution that required 'some latitude.' " You have my thoughts, and they should be voted on if possible, such that the "New World Order" would not be arrived at without choice. MAJOR NOTE: If a catholic holds the office, there will be people who FEAR that the Pope ruins (SIC - should be _runs_ ) the country. As such, President Kerry would be more subject to assassination attempts than most presidents. *end of letter* Note for present 01/05/08 Now the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is a prominent Govt position held by a Catholic. The theory above is my personal idea as to why JFK was assassinated. In Re an antonym for Homophobe - Heterophobia is rare, but arguable too. *added 01/06/08* You probably can't just legislate that the minimum wage = federal poverty level, but "How do you accomplish the suggested improvement?" is a question I do not know the answer to in a Capitalist system. First the whip: I always ask myself "Don't tell me why it can't be done, Tell me how it CAN be done!" So HOW? Perhaps High School students should be introduced to a business starting model before graduation as a part of a curriculum... register a business name before graduation? That way, if you had a business idea in University, you could have a chance of being the next Bill Gates. Maybe study the starting of Three Businesses. I have personally assisted in the starting of a concrete laying business (as labor,)(in TX) and worked at a company (export industry) that started as the result of cash advancing a bunch of credit cards (in SC.)
