Hillary Clinton campaign 10_05_07 with regard to immigration

Dear Mrs. Clinton: You have announced the suggestion of paying a $5000 inducement to reverse America's negative population growth. I don't know how many children 3M Americans can produce, so I cannot speculate about how much money that is. I expect it is around 1.5B a year, a proportionally small sum. On the surface it would appear to make abortion more rare, without making it unsafe. However, it would also appear to put an undue pressure on our already porous borders. Bush tried to 'hand himself a Hispanic constituency' by changing the procedures to deal with immigrants. Your own campaign could easily be considered as trying to purchase the same, with an attending venal association. The snakes who traffic in humans from overseas might begin to make parental reimbursement part of their fees, making benefits pass from illegal immigrants directly to criminals. Do Gays get the sum when they adopt? That could lead to the practice of 'flipping kids,' like realtors flip houses. If only the (potentially surrogate) birth mother receives the sum does this not discriminate against gays? Or Males? What age is the cutoff date? I can imagine myself having five children, with the oldest six years old. How many do I get paid for? Mrs. Clinton: It looks like you have put the system on trial to see how ridiculous some interest group will become. As political posturing, I think it does you a disservice. Please instead address issues of border enforcement, abortion and poverty. My personal solution? Reward ICE with incentives to prosecute businesses large and small that profit from illegal labor. Increase immigration quotas realistically, and make sure that high tech companies like Microsoft no longer purchase blocks of H1 visas to import cheap programmers and give under represented entry level Americans better exposure to prospective employers. Define terms like LAZY, so that even in politicaly correct circles, vice can be addressed. Yours Sincerely, Robert B Johnson *end of letter* This is now posted in response to the ABC debates on TV, with regard to the immigration discussion. If Businesses profit unduly from illegal labor, Americans lose. If we hit them with fines of some proportion, for every incident of illegal labor employment, that kills the profit motive. At that point, Fred Thompson's enforcement by attrition becomes practical.
