Why are so many Americans behind bars - (they have White Supremicists too!)
Why do so many poor people commit crimes? If God spoke of "the poor, rich in faith," why do so many poor Americans commit crimes? Islam has been the fastest growing religion for some time in the US, partly because of efforts behind prison walls. Notably Heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson converted behind bars. He angered big advertising money by winning a boxing fight in 23 seconds. Advertisers didn't get their money's worth out of the fight's duration and there was little room for pay-per-view to re-run it. The networks showed the entire 23 second fight on the News. ...but I digress. Islam is not the cause of crime. Christianity is not the cause of crime either, teaching honesty and a day's work for a day's pay. Intuition leads me to guess that poor people feel injustice when they see advertisements where everyone appears to possess the latest and newest of each product. When they look around and see others (not all, but psychologically 'most') actually having in anecdotal instances one of these products - they might have one friend who has new shoes, another friend who has a new car, the suppose that each person of others possess ALL the new things that he or she desires. Not each possessing ONE thing they desire. Hope deferred make the heart sick (Pr 13:12) so people are tempted to covet, envy and steal. A solution to this supposed motive would be to point out in after school specials (who watches those things?) that many people have one or two NICE things, but not ALL NICE things. Another solution is to parody the misconception - have a prominent character that has ALL NEW, ALL the time, and is only happy under those circumstances. For a long term solution, moral education is necessary in context of a family is needed. Parents tend to make these observations to children in each generation, and those behind bars are there for lack of this underpinning network of moral support. A television program can't "fix" the problem any more than releasing all criminals early can.
