Whitehouse 04_01_07 re Pardons for Libby adn Border patrol agents.

Dear Mr. President: It is my understanding that as an extention of NAFTA, we are trying to establish a North American Union. I am interested to know more about the reasoning behind the North American Union, but that is not the thrust of my letter. As a result of the move toward a North American Union, we are making borders less important, bringing illegal aliens into the legal fold, and prosecuting corrupt border patrol officers that use undue force in defending the border, thus making an example of them. Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos appear to be subjects of this policy, and you have refused to pardon them. I am wondering if it has come to your attention that a pardon for Lewis Libby might be endangered as a side effect of this logic. If you refuse to pardon them, but pardon Mr. Libby instead, won't your political adversaries attempt to make political hay out of this? Will they attempt to portray your office to be elitist and partisan if you pardon Mr Libby after having refused to pardon the border patrol agents? I am concerned that events are leading up to even poorer public opinion polls for your administration. Yours Sincerely, Robert B Johnson
