Whitehouse 06_11_07 re War with Iran

Dear Mr. President: THE AUSTRALIAN WATCHDOG GROUP that originally caught Iran at the business of enriching uranium had the political juice to be heard because YOU STARTED the group. This REFLECTS very WELL ON the office of the Presidency and YOUR OWN FORESIGHT. Having exercised such excellent foresight in this matter, please do not be caught by the spread of hostilities all unsuspecting. You took away the responsibility of starting wars away from the CIA and gave it to the Department of Homeland Security, presumably because regime change can be executed more cheaply and surely without starting a war. AS AN EXIT STRATEGY FROM IRAQ WE CAN NOW BLAME IRAN FOR EVERYTHING, and extricate ourselves from it politically if we wish to. THIS WILL NO LONGER BE AN OPTION IF HOSTILITIES SPREAD to Iran. We should learn our lesson from Iraq that even a dissatisfied populace will not necessarily hail the conquering heroes just because they do not like their leaders of the moment. Mr. President: WAR WITH IRAN will represent diplomatic failure which can be avoided by sabotaging their nuclear facilities. Israel can bomb it openly with less diplomatic fallout. It WILL DRIVE UP OIL PRICES, SUGGESTING THAT YOUR FAMILY WILL BENEFIT FINANCIALLY from the war. War is now paid for out of deficit spending, not plundering and conquering (which we learn from Xenophon plunders all at once.) THE ECONOMIC BENEFIT OF war (and there certainly is one,) will be equally well accomplished with PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS, and these WILL LEAVE US WITH IMPROVED INFRASTRUCTURE, and fewer dead. THE PEACE DIVIDEND SHOULD OUTWEIGH THESE CONSIDERATIONS. In closing Mr. President, any protest I make about the Iran war in future will not be tainted with the incense of 20/20 hindsight. The signs are the next best thing to obvious, and this letter precedes open hostilities. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO WAR WITH IRAN. Yours Sincerely, Robert B Johnson
