Sound Bityes in Context... Truth in Political Advertising
Used to be that we had to rely solely on Television for political sound bites. As such, the public was at the mercy of editors. Now, we have a resource that was unanticipated at its conception. YouTube and Google Video represent a way to factcheck a soundbite for context nowadays. Likewise, the Annenberg Foundation provides a service called factcheck.org that provide sub-scribers with information on fact v fiction in political commercials and debates. I'll admit I confuse the factcheck error log for content on occasion. Truth to be told, you have to watch the politicians make their pitch if you want to cast an informed vote. Our politicians need to know that they no longer need to fear such out of context quoting, and we as the public need to rely on youTube for content from them, not just a humorous record of political gaffs.
