On Prayer in School
At the present time it remains unconstitutional to lead a public prayer at school. The primary reason Christians pray is to declare gratitude to God, but in restaurants (for example,) they pray publically in order to keep prayer socially acceptable. This was previously done at High School football games also. It is the case that there are many faiths in this great nation, and that few people can agree on the best content or author for a prayer. It may further be argued that God should not be petitioned for one team over the other. However, we all want a safe and fair game in every case and parying for this outcome can and should be socially acceptable. In the US of A, we cannot pray at High School football games, because these are sponsored by the state. This is not the case in commercial venues such as NFL football stadiums. As such, the best avenue of protest that Americans cannot lead a prayer in a Public School is to petition football clubs to lead a public prayer before commercial football games, in order that the practice should remain socially acceptable. This is the constitutional way to go.
