Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Hapiness
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are considered inalienable rights in the Declaration of Independence, but are not enumerated in the Constitution. As such, we need to consider two avenues of argumentation: 1. There is no God, despite the Declaration of Independence's reference to a creator, and therefore we 'need' to enumerate all rights in the Constitution by amending it. 2. We need to acknowledge that there are things we do and rights we have that are not listed in the constitution, and the fact that God is not mentioned does not abridge the freedom of religion guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
